    1. Outlook toolbar

Make a nicer outlook toolbar. It now has two sections (Menu commands and Custom toolbars). Should be only one and named to 'Mail Alert'

      • Choose between multiple monitors

I work with multiple monitors, the alert shows up on the 4th one. I would like to have it on the 1st one, so that option is very appreciated.

          • Different sounds for different accounts

It would be very helpful if Mail Alert were to offer an option to play different and selectable .wav sounds for each account. For example, ringout for a personal account, and tara for a business account.

            • BUG: latest version of MailAlert crashes Outlook

I have just upgraded to latest MailAlert versione (2.7.0.1062) and now Outlook 2007 crashes each time I try to open it. I had to disable MailAlert plugin to work. I have MAtrace.txt file available upon request.
              Kind regards

              • Alert does not disappear in preview

I read my mail in the preview pane and it marks as read after 5 seconds. However, the alert does not see this as the mail being read, therefore the alert does not go away. Is there a setting I'm missing? Considering buying but can't if it won't disappear after mail is read in preview pane.

                • Stacking Alerts - How or possible

I thought this was possible but cannot get it to happen now.
I want to stack alerts, so I do not have to limit the amount alerts but can reduce the screen real-estate used.

Is it possible to have a reminder pop up for meetings, as there are for the emails? When meeting reminders arrive, they hide behind Outlook, and easy to miss.

Tiny bug, but I thought I'd mention it as I'm on a roll: In the desktop alert options, click preview a second time without closing the preview alert. It will crash Outlook. I'd also like to say that MailAlert is awesome, thanks for making it!

                            • Bug: Waiting for rules to complete doesn't work.

I have MailAlert set to only show alerts for the inbox. I also have rules set to move certain incoming messages to the sent folder based on the subject. No matter how many delay ms I have set in the config, (currently 5000ms) MailAlert still shows alerts for the messages moved to the sent folder.

                                • I need a repeated Audio alert

As an audio engineer with a laptop running my Outlook Exchange client and my workstation running audio software. The two devices are at 90 degrees from each other with my focus on the audio system, so I check my e-mail less frequently than I should.
I would like to set up a special sound that repeats over and over and over until I dismiss it. This would be used for specific clients whose e-mails need immediate attention.

Is there currently a way to do this or would need to included in a new release.

                                  • caption, sender, subject hidden

Using version 2.7 under Windows 7 Home Premium / Outlook 2007.

When a new alert is displayed, the caption (I use "New Mail (<mailbox name>)"), Sender and Subject are not shown until I click on the "More Options" button. Those are precisely the things I want to see most, as they allow me to quickly decide if I need to bother reading any of the text of the message, and I want all three of them to display without having to click anything.

Is is a bug, a conscious choice on your part, an option I'm not seeing, or perhaps… more

                                    • Notifications Suppressed on Startup

I have been trying Mail Alert 2.7 beta. One change from 2.6 is that when you first open Outlook (2007) I receive all of the desktop alerts whereas with version 2.6 these alerts were suppressed upon first opening Outlook. Perhaps there could be an option but I prefer that the alerts be suppressed when first opening Outlook because there are so many e-mails being downloaded.

Also, in versions 2.6 and 2.7 beta the check for updates does not work for me. I receive a notification that a problem was encountered.

Thanks for your help with these. Kent

                                        Hi:

Thanks for your nice program. I am using Mail Alert 2.6 with Outlook 2007 on Windows 7. I set the second button under Desktop Alert Options to “Reply to the item” and then check “Close alert...”. When a new e-mail arrives and I click on the 2nd button of the Desktop Alert nothing happens except that the Desktop Alert will close. I don’t get the reply e-mail. Have you heard of this problem before. I also tried it on the 1st button and it also does not work. For some reason “reply to all” works and “forward” works under… more

I cannot manage to get the alerts work when a message arrives in a folder. I use POPFile to move the message to the correct folder, no client rules. I can see this error in the log I have enabled: "MapiHelper: Failed to open MAPI message object. Operazione client non riuscita. (0x8004010F) component: "Archivio informazioni di Microsoft Exchange Server"." when a message arrives in a folder and it is not alerted. I use Outlook 2003 with Windows XP SP2.
